We address alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct or the Residence Hall Handbook that relate to alcohol and drug misuse. Our goal is to support students while upholding university policy as well as all applicable local, 州和联邦法律.

作为一名学生, it is important to understand university policies regarding alcohol and the conduct process. If you are under 21, it is illegal to consume alcohol on or off campus.

The Code of Conduct exists to educate students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as members of a safe, 民事, and ethical academic community. The conduct process involves respect, 正当程序, and education designed to prevent and mitigate harm. Colleges and universities nationwide acknowledge that alcohol use is a question that each student must answer for themselves. The Code is a helpful resource in understanding the university’s position on alcohol and the requirements imposed by the State of Idaho in the issuing of educational outcomes related to violations of the university’s alcohol policies. 

The following is the section of our Code that pertains to the use and misuse of substances:

E-7. Use and Misuse of Substances

  1. 吸烟. 吸烟违反 APM 35.28.
  2. Drugs and controlled substances
    1. 使用, 拥有, 制造业, 培养, 销售, or distributing any state or federally controlled drug, 设计/合成药物, 或物质, 包括, 但不限于, 大麻, 海洛因, 毒品, or other controlled substances, in violation of any applicable law or University policy.
    2. Possessing or using any paraphernalia used for drug consumption. Paraphernalia includes but is not limited to bongs, bowls, pipes, or any homemade smoking device.
    3. 使用, 拥有, 销售, or distributing prescription or over-the-counter medications by an individual for whom it was not prescribed.
    4. Inhaling or ingesting any substance (e.g., nitrous oxide, glue, paint, etc.) that is intended to alter a student’s mental state without a prescription.
    5. A violation may also occur when the odor of an illegal or controlled substance or drug is present when more than one individual can reasonably trace it to a specific individual.
  3. 酒精
    1. 消费, 拥有, 制造业, or distributing alcoholic beverages in violation of any applicable law or University policy (see APM 80.01 for alcohol permit requirements and APM 95.31 酒精政策).
    2. For persons under 21, the use or possession of alcoholic beverages. public intoxication or excessive consumption of alcohol. disorderly or irresponsible conduct resulting from consumption of alcohol.
    3. For persons over 21, the use or possession of alcohol in public areas where alcohol is not permitted. excessive consumption of alcohol resulting in disorderly or irresponsible conduct.
    4. Selling, distributing, or furnishing alcohol to a person under 21 years of age.
